A short reset is easier to repeat when the boundary is clear. Work only while parked, keep every control and restraint visible, and remove loose tools before driving.
Minute 0–2: empty the route
Remove loose trash and take removable floor mats outside the vehicle. Do not place tools on the dash, seats, pedals, or controls.
Minute 2–5: sweep outward
Use a soft brush on visible, stationary trim seams. Move dry debris toward an open collection point. Avoid screens, cameras, sensors, switch gaps, and airbag covers.
Minute 5–7: work the mat outside
Sweep or lift dry debris from the removed mat on a stable surface. Do not use the tools on restraint webbing, child-seat hardware, wet material, broken glass, or sharp debris.
Minute 7–9: finish the glass
Inspect a clean dry cloth for grit, fold it into clean faces, and wipe accessible interior glass without blocking your own sight line or contacting mounted devices.
Minute 9–10: stow outside the drive zone
Count the tools, let any washed part dry outside the vehicle, and place the kit low in an enclosed storage zone. Nothing stays loose in the cabin.
