A convenient space is not a safe space when it overlaps a system needed for driving, restraint, visibility, service, or movement.
Airbag and restraint zones
Keep airbag covers and seams, seat belts, buckles, child-seat anchors, and head-restraint movement clear. Do not attach, wedge, hang, or store anything in these areas.
Driver controls and floor
Nothing belongs near pedals, the steering wheel, gear selector, parking brake, seat controls, or the driver footwell. A loose tool can move when the vehicle accelerates or stops.
Visibility and sensing
Do not cover windows, mirrors, cameras, sensor housings, displays, vents with moving mechanisms, or the driver’s view through the windshield.
Moving seats and service access
Keep seat rails, folding paths, latches, battery or fuse covers, emergency equipment, and required cargo hardware accessible.
Hard loose objects
Soft organizers are not crash-tested restraints. Keep loads low, soft, and stable, and use the vehicle’s approved cargo systems for items that require restraint.
